Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Scope

This policy regulates the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation, submission, peer review, and publication processes in this journal.

 Acceptable Use of AI

Authors are allowed to use AI tools to assist in:

  • Improving language quality (grammar, spelling, clarity)
  • Organizing structure and readability

However, AI must not be used to generate scientific arguments, interpretations, or conclusions without human verification.

 Author Responsibility

Authors remain fully responsible for:

  • The accuracy, integrity, and originality of the manuscript
  • Verification of all AI-generated content
  • Ensuring no fabricated references, bias, or misinformation

AI tools do not replace human intellectual contribution.

 Disclosure Requirement

Authors must disclose any use of AI in manuscript preparation.

The disclosure must:

  • Be placed in a dedicated section before references
  • Include: Name of AI tool (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.); Purpose of use; Extent of use

Example statement:

"The authors used [AI tool name] to assist in language editing. All content has been reviewed and verified by the authors."

 Authorship

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors
  • Only humans who meet authorship criteria may be listed
  • Authors are accountable for all submitted content

 Data Privacy and Intellectual Property

Authors must ensure:

  • No confidential or unpublished data is uploaded into AI tools
  • No copyrighted materials are used improperly
  • AI tools do not claim ownership of submitted content

 Use of AI in Figures and Images

  • AI-generated or AI-manipulated images are not permitted
  • Exception: if AI is part of the research method. Must be clearly described in the methodology section. Must include tool name, version, and usage details

 AI in Peer Review Process

  • Reviewers are prohibited from uploading manuscripts to AI tools
  • AI must not be used to generate peer review reports
  • Confidentiality must be strictly maintained

 Editorial Use of AI

Editors may use AI tools only for:

  • Administrative support
  • Workflow efficiency

AI must not replace editorial judgment or decision-making.

 Policy Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in:

  • Manuscript rejection
  • Retraction after publication
  • Notification to affiliated institutions
